Links and click counts
We save the web address you enter and the short link we create so visitors reach the right page. We count visits through short links to show you how often they are used. If you include a QR code, it contains the same short link.
Anyone with your short link can open it. Anyone with your link’s details page address can also see its click stats and any QR code you included. Please avoid shortening private or sensitive web addresses.
For new clicks, we save the referring website’s domain and basic device, browser, and operating system categories. We use these to show combined link stats. These stats do not use location lookups or extra tracking cookies.
Information about visits
When you visit, we record technical details such as your IP address, browser, operating system, device type, the page you open, and the time. Our request logs may also include session identifiers, request headers, data submitted with a request, and the response status.
We use this information to keep SnipHub running, investigate problems, and understand how people use the site.
Messages you send us
If you contact us, we save your email address and message so we can read it and reply. Please leave out passwords and other sensitive information.
